The faculty of Sharia and Law plays a major role and mission. In consolidating the principles of right, justice and the rule of law, and providing the legal community with all that is new in the field of legal sciences and human resources development, and preparing specialists in legal studies and providing them with legal skills and building a balanced personality capable of advancing society.
The Faculty of Sharia and Law aspires to be a leading scientific reference in studies, consultations and continuing education in the jurisprudential and legal fields. By encouraging an increase in the admission of students to the college to receive sciences, conduct scientific studies and research, spread jurisprudence and legal awareness, and coordinate efforts with the judicial authorities through the exchange of experiences and the provision of consultations; In order to achieve the goals of the college.
- Preparing and qualifying students scientifically, professionally and educationally to obtain the scientific degree (Bachelor) in the majors in the college according to the study curriculum.
- Provide opportunities for education and scientific research to obtain a higher degree (Master + PhD) in the fields of specialization in the college.
- Contribute to addressing the economic, legislative and media problems in Sudan and the state of Sinnar by conducting field studies and research.
- Work to spread religious and media awareness.
- Establishing and developing relationships with relevant local and international bodies and institutions.
- Confirming the identity of the Sudanese nation through the curriculum drawn up to prepare a qualified graduate associated with his nation.

The Faculty grants a bachelor’s degree with honors in Sharia and Law within four years in the semester system, as the Faculty curriculum includes eight semesters, and the number of credit hours in the college curriculum is (164) credit hours. The Faculty also grants master’s and doctoral degrees in the various departments of the Faculty, in addition to granting it a higher diploma in Sharia and law to qualify postgraduate students to obtain various scientific degrees.

About Shari’a and Law
The Faculty of Sharia and Law arose as a department in the Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Sciences (currently the Faculty of Arts), until it was promoted to the Faculty of Sharia and Law in 2009, based on Ministerial Resolution No. (64/2009), to receive its first batch in the year 2010, as a contribution with the rest of the university’s faculties in achieving The university’s mission and vision, which aims to prepare academically qualified cadres capable of giving and building.
In its first academic year, the Faculty received (184) male and female students, and in the year 2016 , the Faculty moved to its headquarters in the Maernu region with the increase in the number of students admitted to it, as the total number of accepted students reached (2466) students, and (7) batches of students graduated from the Faculty ; Until the number of graduates reached (1106) students until the year 2022.
