Dean Address - Faculty of Medical Laboratory

In the name of Allah, by whose grace good deeds are completed.
To the students of the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Sciences, esteemed colleagues among the teaching staff, employees, workers, honorable visitors, and seekers of knowledge, I extend my warmest greetings and respect. The Faculty of Medical Laboratory Sciences at Sinnar University was established in 2017 with a clear vision — to complete the medical circle at Sinnar University alongside Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing — in order to serve the people of Sinnar State through medical and diagnostic services. This is particularly important as Sinnar State lies within the belt of some endemic diseases such as malaria, kala-azar, and bilharzia. The faculty awards an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences in the following specializations:

  1. Microbiology

  2. Hematology

  3. Histopathology and Cytology

  4. Medical Parasitology

  5. Clinical Chemistry

True to its mission, the faculty celebrated the graduation of its first distinguished batch in 2025. Today, its graduates are spread throughout Sinnar State and across Sudan, recognized for their excellence and competence, as attested by medical institutions nationwide. The faculty is equipped with specialized laboratories featuring fully integrated and reference-standard equipment, as well as highly qualified, well-trained, and professional staff. The faculty is also taking steady steps toward launching the following programs:

  1. Postgraduate studies and ongoing research to advance diagnostic services in the state.

  2. Training programs for staff in hospitals and health centers.

  3. Epidemiological surveys of diseases in the state.

  4. Localization of medical diagnostics. We hope this great faculty will be further highlighted to maximize the use of its diagnostic capabilities and to serve as a reference center for the Ministry of Health in Sinnar State. With sincere thanks and appreciation,

Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Al-Haj
Dean of the Faculty
